Every child deserves to have access to a high-quality public education, no matter their ZIP code. A strong education system starts with supporting the people who make it work every day - our teachers. Across North Dakota, educators are facing increasing pressures with rising student population, poor pay, and growing classroom demands. If we want our students to succeed, we must take care of the professionals who teach and guide them throughout the year.

As a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives, I will focus on practical, results-driven solutions:

  • Increase Teacher Pay & Benefits
Raise base salaries, provide cost-of-living adjustments, and strengthen retirement and healthcare to attract and retain quality educators.
  • Address Teacher Shortages
Expand scholarships and loan forgiveness and promote teaching in rural and high-need areas.
  • Invest in School Funding
Push for an increase in per-student funding and support rural and growing districts with modernization.
  • Support Classroom Resources
Fund supplies for teachers, expand access to support staff and aids, increase mental health professionals within all schools, and work to reduce class sizes.
  • Strengthen Professional Support
Invest in training and mentorship programs for new teachers and prioritize adequate planning time for teachers.
  • Improve Working Conditions
Give teachers a stronger voice in policy decisions, cut excessive paperwork, and ensure safe school environments.
  • Support Students & Families
Expand early childhood education options, increase staff support for after-school programs, and connect with community partnerships that help students succeed.
  • Plan for the Future
Create a study for workforce trends, gather input from educators and families, and develop long-term, data-driven education policies.

With the resources North Dakota has today, underfunding education is a choice. When we support educators, we strengthen our schools and our students. I believe in investing in our educators with help build a stronger future for our children and create a stronger public education.
